Disneyland ~ 2026
It has been a hot minute since we visited the self-appointed “Happiest Place on Earth”. We were invited to join one of our favorite families to celebrate a very special 5th birthday for R.
We were there for a long weekend in March, we arrived Thursday night and stayed at Disney’s Grand California Resort. We had easy flights in/out of Reno to Long Beach airport and had an easy Uber ride to the hotel. We didn’t get to the hotel until 9pm so our friends were pretty much all tuckered out and tucked into bed after their first full day of Disney! We were all to meet the next morning for breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen.
I did not take any photos of our room, shame on me. But to be honest, I did not notice anything different from my last visit to the resort. It was refurbished and everything was clean and fresh. We had a pool view, which was nice - we were upgraded with our view but that ended up giving us an Accessible Room which was not terrible, but the bed and tables were low and there was not as much storage in the bathroom for toiletries. The resort did have a few areas closed off for refurbishments, but there were no disturbances during our stay.
The parks were crowded and I’m getting to an age where that is just not FUN, but we were still happy to be there and see the magic of the parks through R & J’s eyes! Two adorable kids who were just in awe the entire trip.
We had breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen which was very good and makes it so easy to spend time with the Characters. We also went to Disney’s Princess Adventure breakfast at Napa Rose and that was certainly an upgraded character experience and well-worth it. The food was amazing, the service outstanding, no chaos, the Princesses came to each table and took their time with the little girls/boys, it was really a lovely experience.
For lunch and dinner, we mostly “winged it” based upon ride schedules and hunger levels. With two little ones, much of our schedule was designed around them and their needs for naps or food, so we ate a variety of “comfort foods”- pub-like dining, etc. It was all low key and we enjoyed all of our meals.
