As part of my recent visit to Cancun for the Hyatt Ziva's grand re-opening, I was also able to take a tour of the Hyatt Zilara resort- the sister property located about 5-10 minutes by car/bus/taxi or a 30 minute walk down the beach. This resort is Adults Only and it is also All-Inclusive. I took a lot of pictures and was very impressed with everything that I did see with this resort. It's relatively small in comparison to the Hyatt Ziva, so definitely more intimate. It's on the long stretch of beach in Cancun's Hotel Zone, which is a beautiful beach and also a section of abundant sand. There are some sections where the beach narrows down considerably along the hotel zone...but this is the widest section of beach!
The resort is completely ocean facing, all rooms have an ocean view. The extend of the view depends upon room location. Obviously, the higher up, the cleaner the view. Rooms are well appointed and spacious and you just can't beat the view. In fact, you even have an ocean view from the shower!! (When you view the picture album, notice the peak hole through the headboard of the bed, that's from the shower!) Though said peak hole wouldn't work for people like me who are 5'3" tall! This resort also has the swim out rooms, though they are not as secluded as they are at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun.
Once again, you have that amazing ocean view the minute you walk into the lobby of the hotel. You also see the beautiful stained glass ceilings- absolutely breathtaking! Six Restaurants, 3 bars, 1 coffee house. They also have the 24 hour feature to pick up snacks/drinks and 24 hour Room service. Snack carts around and about throughout the day. Beautiful spa and the ability to use the sauna/steam/jacuzzis even if you are not purchasing a spa service. Also, the Zilara & Ziva properties have recipricol privleges from 6pm-midnight where guests of either hotel can visit the other for dining and entertainment purposes. Of course, families staying at Ziva cannot bring children to Zilara.
All in all, I was impressed with this resort. It was very intimate and though I did not experience service first hand as a guest, the few employees that we did interact with did show the service from the heart and I could see how the staff was interacting with guests. I would not hesitate to send any of my adult clientele to this resort and may try to find time to return for my own visit and experience!
