PLEASE NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS INTENDED TO PROMOTE SALES AS A TRAVEL ADVISOR, I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS IF YOU DECIDE THIS VACATION IS FOR YOU.
During my recent visit to Cancun, I spent one full day going to 5 resorts in the area that I wanted to see first
hand. They did not disappoint. Because I can't say I have experienced these places, I will give you an overall
impression that I received on each hotel resort and attach pictures for your viewing.
ROYAL HIDEAWAY PLAYACAR- RIVIERA MAYA
My personal opinion: BEAUTIFUL RESORT! Very low-key, located in beautiful Playacar on the Riviera
Maya about 40 minutes away from Cancun. Rooms were elegantly decorated with every possible amenity you
could wish for and then more. It was a quiet resort, you could feel relaxation throughout the grounds.

SECRETS CAPRI - RIVIERA MAYA
My personal opinion: This couples only all-inclusive resort is truly a romantic getaway. My cousin stayed
here earlier this year and having seen the property and read her review, there is no doubt that this resort lives
up to its' 5 star rating. I would stay here myself without a doubt.

CANCUN PALACE - CANCUN HOTEL ZONE
There are 9 Palace Resorts in Mexico, with 8 of them being in the Cancun/Riviera Maya Area, 1 in Puerto
Vallarta and now a 10th resort outside of Mexico in the Dominican Republic. I have used several of the Palace
Resorts for my valued clients, always with positive feedback. I was thrilled to be able to visit one of them first-
hand and only wish I could have stayed there.
My personal opinion: LOVE IT!!! We actually considered checking out of Club Med early and staying a few
nights at this place. It had life, it had action. People looked like they were having fun. They had options for
dining, for drinking, for entertaining. I think this would be a great place for a group of people, it is also a great
venue for any business conferences/meetings. They had a wonderful business/conference center with all the
needed amenities. Only drawback: Due to Hurricane Dean, August 2007, they did lose a good portion of their
beach and they are in the process of trying to bring it back. So for the moment, this hotel and many of the
neighboring hotels on this stretch of beach do not have the beach for access or playing.

JW MARRIOTT RESORT- CANCUN- HOTEL ZONE
Located in the Hotel Zone, on the same stretch of beach as the Cancun Palace, so the beach is lacking right
now also. But the view is still beautiful. This is NOT an all-inclusive resort.
My personal opinion: This was my first hotel to inspect that wasn't all-inclusive. This was truly a Marriott
resort located on the beach in Cancun. It had all the features you would expect of a Marriott Hotel, but also
had the features one would expect in a vacation destination. Personally, I like the idea of an all-inclusive
resort, but I would definitely take advantage of this property if all-inclusive was not a huge requirement.

RITZ CARLTON CANCUN- HOTEL ZONE
The sales representative that gave me the tour of the Ritz Carlton Cancun was going to email me the spec
sheet and brochure information, but I have not received that yet. Most of the specs about the resort are on the
hotel website, so I will jump to my opinion.
My personal opinion: This is a 5 star luxury resort that is not all-inclusive. The resort has 2 restaurants, 2
bars, large fitness center and spa. The pool area is on the smaller side, but it is a smaller resort than many of
its' neighbors. It too is on part of the beach that was eliminated by Hurricane Dean a month ago. You will see
in some of my pictures, their attempts at fixing the beach. They did have one area of beach that remained in
tact and they have sun bathing cabanas by day that turn into beachfront private dining cabanas by night. They
also have a new culinary center which we were not able to view, but the resort has cooking demonstrations
and lessons in this new center. Service is the standard level of excellence that you expect from Ritz Carlton
with all employees treating you with the utmost in respect.
